Linda and I got together with our old friends this weekend. It is the first time we have all been together at the same time in eighteen years. I started to work at Sage's Market just after graduating High School. I had worked there some before I graduated, but not full time. Kerry Pendergast, John Hamilton, and I, and for part of one day Ian Dalgetty, worked as boxboys at Sage's. It has been a friendship that has lasted all of these years. Sage's Markets went out of business in April 1973, and by then we all had found jobs elsewhere. The friendship just kept on growing. John and I were roommates until he got married to Ann. Kerry met Barbara when they worked at the same Sage's Market and married. Ian had gone to school with John and Kerry, and married Marlene who Kerry, John and I had know for some time. Each of the guys were a part of each others weddings. We later saw less of each other as we rasied our children (except John and Ann, she was a teacher and had more kids than the rest of us put together). Half of us are now retired, or will be in a week or so. The other half will join us in a couple of years. We are all now planning a trip to Alaska in a couple of years together. Strong friendship do last even if you are apart for a long time. We plan on getting together more often now. Next to family, friends are the must important things in life. If you haven't talk to a friend in a while please contact them. Then you will now how much you have missed them.
