I got a call from my cousin Faye that I have not seen in fifty years. We had planned a reunion in June in Ohio. Faye and her husband Tony and daughter Tracy were taking a vaction from the cold weather in Minnesota. She asked if I lived anywhere near Palm Springs. I told her I only live an hour away. So we planned to meet on Saturday. My sister Bobbie and her husband drove in from Las Vegas, and we headed out to Palm Springs. We were a little apprehensive as it had been so long. That didn't last long as they were so friendly it seemed like we had seen them all along. We sat and talked for hours. We shared photos and caught up on what we had been doing all of these years. Faqye showed me photos of my dad and her dad that I had never seen. I took photos of her pictures so I would have copies. She had a letter written by our grandfather, and gave Bobbie and me a copy of a news article about my father. The house in Palm Springs was once owned by Ava Garner an movie star from the fifties and then by Howard Hughes. The owners have keep it just the way it was in the fifties except adding new TVs. We spent eleven hours together, but it didn't seem that long. Bobbie, Walt, Linda and I are now even more excited to see everyone at the reunion. Well this is getting long so I will quit for now.
