We were very busy on Monday starting early at the National Cemetary at 9:00 a.m. I was helping with the set up before the program started. The Master of Ceremonies is a old friend of mine, and he asked for a little help. He had to get forty VIP's checked in, and find their seats. As always some did not show that were to be there, and some showed up that we didn't expect. We also had to get the choir of fortyfive young people in their seats and get everything started by 11:00 a.m. Every time we turmed around everyone was up moving around visiting with people all over the place. As always the MC didn't have a watch so I loaned him mine. Everything did get done, and it started on time. Linda and I helped after the ceremony was over. Col. Millet (Medal of Honor winner) who was in a wheel chair had to be helped to his car, and when all was done it was almost 1:30 p.m. We had received a call from Sharla that she wanted the kids to do something that would teach them about Memorial Day. After Linda and I picked up something to eat we went over and picked up Sharla and her family. We went back to the National Cemetery and placed flowers on my parent's graves. I tried to explain who all of the people were, and I think they understood what a Veteran was. We then took the kids to see and area were 4000 flags were placed. We then took them to the lake to see the ducks before we left the Cemetery. Then it was back to Sharla's home were we had dinner. It was one of the best Memorial Days I can remember.
