We received sad news today that a family friend had lost her Father on Friday. Marlene's Father Henry was a man that most of us could only hope to be as loved as he was. Though I had not seen him in some time, I will always think of him with a smile. I was invited to his home several times, even though he knew me only as a friend of his daughter Marlene. He as well as his family treated me as if they had known me for a long time. I remember the good food and music and good company. Our thoughts and prayers go to Marlene, Ian and the Medina family. I have learned greatness is not given, but earned. Henry was a great man.
Linda and I spent two evenings at the National Cemetary Putting out 110 flags on graves. It took over four hours. We did this for Bob who has done this on his own for a very long time. He was going out of town for his Granddaughter's graduation. The flags go on the graves of the Iraq and Afganistan Veterans that have died, as well as Medal of Honor members, Veterans and their family members who are inturned at the cemetary. Bob was kind enough to add my Father and Mother to his list. The job gets harder each month as new names are added. This week end he, with the help of two classes of students, will place 4000 flages on graves at the cemetary. This will be some site to see. If you are in the area of Riverside National Cemetary this weekend go to section 57. Please remember the Vetearns this weekend, and on Monday.

Sorry about the loss of another loved one. I am glad you were able to have known such a kind man.
I love the music on your blog. You will have to tell me how you did it.
Thanks for the Mmorial Day reminder.
