Just a quick note to let everyone know we are still here. In the last week and a half just after Linda's Mom's great party. Linda's Dad fell and was taken to the hospital. He had injuries to his head and hand. The whole family was very concerned, because he had to have stiches to one of his fingers, and there was a chance he would need surgery for the head injury. He is now home and recovering. There is still a chance he might still need surgery, but as much as he has improved it look like he will recover without the surgery. Linda's family is very special to me, and they never stop amazing me with how much they care for each other. I came into the family almost twenty years ago, but they make me fill like I have always been part of the family. Linda's Mom and Dad are as close to me as my own Mother and Father, and fill the lost space I had since I lost both of my parents long ago.
We are living in smoke from all of the fires that are still burning north, south, and west of where we live. There has been so much damage to Southern California. Hundreds of homes lost and still more may be lost before all of the fires are out. So far all of the family are okay and are still in our homes. There have been some close call, but so far the fires have missed us. The fire in Orange County is now burning toward Riverside County where we live, and may be getting closer in the next day or two. The nearest fire is forty miles away. This sounds like a long way but some of the fires have traveled twelve to fifteen miles or more in less than a day. The fire fighters do a amazing job of saving homes. If you ever want to meet a real hero stop by your local fire station. Well this has turned into a very long quick note, so I wish the very best to you all.
